The Thermostat is available as a wired or wireless version. The wireless thermostat features a built-in rechargeable battery that can be recharged with a USB-C cable in under an hour!

Passiv Programmer

The Programmer gives complete control of heating and hot water in the home. Use the Programmer's rich colour screen and intuitive interface to create, edit and delete schedules, boost hot water or turn on Away mode.

Passiv app

The free Passiv app for Apple and Android devices is the easiest way to control a heat pump - use the app to quickly and conveniently manage heating and hot water from anywhere.

Passiv Hub

Greener Grid Payments is the UK’s first automated Demand Side Response (DSR) service for heat pump owners, allowing them to get paid up to £100 a year for using your heat pump.

The Passiv Smart Thermostat automatically responds to signals based on the needs of the wider electricity network, reducing demand while using smart preheating to make sure the home doesn’t noticeably cool down.

Complete in-home control

Unlike other smart thermostats, the Passiv Thermostat and Programmer provide complete control of heating and hot water without a smartphone or internet connection.

Manage schedules

Create, edit or delete a heating and hot water schedule for each day of the week with up to six separate heating periods on each day.

Boost hot water

Boost for a quick top-up of hot water. The boost will run for one hour and can be cancelled at any time.

Away mode

Turn on Away mode to pause heating and hot water schedules. You can even set a start and end time for Away mode, meaning it can be scheduled in advance!

How the Passiv Smart Thermostat works

Connect the Passiv Hub to a broadband router using the supplied ethernet cable.

Download the Passiv app from the App Store or Google Play. Create a Passiv account and follow the simple onboarding instructions to get started.

Set up heating and hot water schedules in the Passiv app. Enable ecoHeat for the best savings and enter tariff details in the app settings.

The Passiv Smart Thermostat learns how a home heats up and cools down, how the heating system performs and how a home reacts to the outside temperature and weather.

It then uses local weather forecasts to calculate the optimal way to meet comfort requirements, continuously optimising the heat pump's flow temperature to maximise its efficiency and lower heating bills.

With ecoHeat on, the Passiv Smart Thermostat will run your heat pump outside of your schedule periods to preheat your home and hot water so that your scheduled temperatures are always met and you have the hot water that you need.

This is the best way to control your heat pump and increases its efficiency by 17%. A more efficient heat pump means lower heating bills!

No! Unlike many other smart thermostats, every feature of the Passiv Smart Thermostat is included for free. There are no ongoing charges for using the Passiv Smart Thermostat.

Yes, you can do this by turning ecoHeat off. With ecoHeat off, the Passiv Smart Thermostat will operate like a traditional boiler thermostat.

The Passiv Smart Thermostat comes with default heating and hot water schedules however these can be deleted at any time. With an empty schedule the Passiv Smart Thermostat will effectively act like a room thermostat.
